Numerical Analysis of Engine Exhaust Flow Parameters for Resolving Pre-Turbine Pulsating Flow Enthalpy and Exergy

چکیده

Energy carried by engine exhaust pulses is critical to the performance of a turbine or any other energy recovery system. Enthalpy and exergy are commonly used concepts describe transport flow based on first second laws thermodynamics. However, in order investigate crank-angle-resolved enthalpy exergy, significance parameters (pressure, velocity, temperature) their demand for high resolution need be ascertained. In this study, local global sensitivity analyses were performed one-dimensional (1D) heavy-duty diesel model quantify each parameter determination exergy. The effects sweeps analyzed sensitivity, Sobol indices from showed correlations between computed analysis indicated that when considering specific temperature dominant requires pulse. It was found 5% sweep over pulse leads maximum deviations 31% 27% resolving crank angle-based respectively. total rates, velocity most significant parameter, requiring with deviation 23% rate 12% This study will help prioritize fast measurements pulsating context turbocharger inlet analysis.

experimental and numerical study of an on-engine turbocharger performance under the inlet pulsating flow

the present work is focused on the performance analysis of a 1.7 liter engine with turbocharger. the ultimate target is studying the response of the turbocharger to the inlet pulsating flow. such numerical analysis requires the time variation of pressure and velocity at turbine inlet. in order to achieve such information, one dimensional unsteady viscous compressible flow within a 1.7 liter tur...

Numerical simulation of pulsating turbulent channel flow

Direct and large-eddy simulations of the Navier–Stokes equations are used to study the pulsating flow in a channel. The cases examined span a wide range of frequencies of the driving pressure gradient, and encompass different physical behaviors, from the quasi-Stokes flow observed at high frequencies, to a quasisteady behavior at the lowest ones. The validity of the dynamic Smagorinsky model to...

Flow Seals Parameters Analysis For Rotors

The interaction of work fluid mechanics with that of the rotary system itself, basically composed of axes, bearings and rotors, is performed by inserting equivalent dynamic coefficients in the mathematical model of the rotor, the latter being obtained by the finite element method. In this paper, the dynamic coefficients of inertia, stiffness and damping of the flat seals analyzed here are evalu...
